Lecture by Denis Behr
This DVD contains a full recording of his lecture given to an audience of magicians at the MacMillan Magic Convention, London, 2008.
He begins the lecture with'Brute Force Opening'- No time is wasted in this triple impact routine. A card changes into a previous selection, then back to the original card, meanwhile the selection is produced from what was an empty card box. This simple plot has a knockout climax and is a perfect opener for the card worker performing in restaurants & bars.
The Tantalizer- Here's a classic of magic that's often overlooked, but not by Denis Behr. In this, the spectator has 51 chances to find their freely selected card. Despite the odds being heavily against him, Denis somehow finishes holding the chosen card. Very entertaining and incredibly clean, yet 100% certain every time. You'll use this trick right away! What's more, as you proceed through the lecture you'll find Denis has a much deeper reason for using it and that's when you'll begin to realise the depth of Denis Behr's thinking.
Plop- Here's a short routine using any 4 of a kind. A number is freely chosen between 1 & 13, the pack is placed inside its case, yet all four of the chosen number magically penetrate the case and 'Plop' into the spectators hand.
A Gambling Demonstration- This is 'The Coup De Grace' and comes at a point where the deck has been thoroughly shuffled. Denis begins by magically producing the 4 aces. Then a spectator freely names a suit while another says where to deal the winning hand...Denis deals 4 hands, the selected one has a royal flush of the chosen suit. As if this isn't enough, Denis continues dealing, now the hand has the entire selected suit, all in numeric order. As a finale, the other hands are turned over to reveal each also contain a single suit in numeric order. Remember, the cards were previously shuffled and used throughout the performance of other tricks, this is truly amazing and very practical.
All of this plus expert tips on essential handling including 'Holding A Break', 'Double Lift', 'Peeked Selection Control', 'Top Change', 'The Pass', 'Bottom Palm' and many other moves, plus some incredible material on the stacked-deck that'll have you re-thinking your stack work.
