For those of you who own several of my products, you've probably realized by now that card locations are my area of expertise. And so we're back with another location that I think is a total fooler. The best part is that it can be performed with any regular deck. Very few magicians have been able to work this one out when I showed it to them - so I am confident that with this you will be fooling all your magician friends (even the knowledgeable ones).

The main takeaway of the ebook, however, is not the aforementioned effect but rather the shuffling principle that I will be teaching you. I've already published two shuffling principles which can be found here: The SSSB Principle and The DWS Principle.

And, in this ebook, I am publishing another one. You will first learn the original principle in detail (of which my principle is a variation), after which you will learn my principle. Then, you will learn a very strong card location effect that makes use of my principle - I call this Unthinkable Location.

There is a full performance video of the effect below (thanks to my friend for recording it), but here is a written description as well:

The magician introduces an ordinary pack of playing cards, which he splits into two piles. He instructs the spectator to shuffle each pile. Then, he takes one of the shuffled piles and spreads it face down on the table in front of the spectator. The spectator is instructed to select any card from the spread, look at it, and then return it to the same position.

With that done, the spectator is invited to close the spread and give their pile as many complete cuts as they want to lose their selected card. Then, they also give their pile a riffle shuffle to really lose the card. After this, they riffle shuffle their pile in with the other, unused pile, thereby reassembling the deck.

At this point, the magician takes the deck, spreads through it face towards himself, and locates the selected card.

Some important conditions of note:

  • The deck is completely regular. It is unmarked, ungaffed and ungimmicked in every way. So, technically, you can borrow a deck and do this (if you set the deck up beforehand which wouldn't take more than a minute).
  • The spectator shuffles both piles at the beginning of the effect.
  • The spectator freely chooses any card from their shuffled pile.
  • After returning the card back to their pile, the spectator gives their pile a few cuts as well as a riffle shuffle. Then, they riffle shuffle their pile in with the other pile. So, in total, there are two riffle shuffles.
  • The magician doesn't know what the selected card is until he looks through the deck at the end - so this rules out any kind of peek.

Note: In addition to learning the routine described above, you will also learn a bonus routine. So there are two routines taught in the PDF.
