Paul Pickford – Magic Circle Lecture by Paul Pickford
In May 2018 The Magic Circle took the rare step of awarding Paul, associate of the inner magic circle, straight from his audition. A few months later, Paul then came first in the Magic Circle Close-up Competition of the Year competition, all in his first year as member which is an extremely rare achievement and may even be unique.
In his WHAT IF lecture, Paul asks the question, “What if he could travel back in time to the start of his magical journey?”, “What would he tell himself”. Paul will try to answer this question demonstrating how he justifies his every move whilst performing some of his favourite effects, that fool magicians and lay people alike. Then he will talk about the psychology, misdirection and attitude that he has woven into all of his routines, techniques that can be applied to all forms of magic. Paul will also explain his VS move, that has opened up almost unlimited possibilities for his card magic and fools magicians even when they know the move.
WHAT IF instead of learning WHAT to think, it’s better to learn HOW to think.
