product description:

An delightful new close-up routine from France’s Bruno Copin.

Here's a great adaptation. In Bruno Copin's "It Was You," a spectator freely selects a postcard and signs the back. The postcard is placed back with the others and into a closed box.

As you tell a story about a long lost encounter, you bring out an envelope and open it, and inside is the spectator's signed postcard. There's no conventional sleight of hand needed to accomplish this, and at the end, everything may be examined.

Effect wise, the use of postcards adds an intriguing theme that gets away from the traditional playing cards. And it's far more natural for a spectator to sign a postcard than a playing card. The only downside is that you will use up the postcards, which are smaller than normal ones. Copin does offer refills at a reasonable price.

The method is quite complex but baffling to lay spectators. While you could walk around and perform this effect on tables, it requires that you carry several props and there's some setup at each location. This effect is best for formal close-up situations where you can setup shortly ahead of time on a table.

For magicians, there will be a suspicious moment, however, this should fly right by lay spectators. And even for those who suspect, there's seemingly no way that the postcard could have made it's way to the envelope.

This one is very strong and provides a memorable experience for spectators, as well as a souvenir. For the right situations, this one has lots of possibilities.
