The Gold Project – This is Chandler (Kennard Chandler). I wanted to share with you some valuable information about the “Gold Project”. A PEA member started a thread to help my wife, Beaner and therefore me. He came up with the idea that later became the Gold Project. Little did I know that the result would become a classic book on mentalism.
I want to thank each of you who have purchased “Gold”. The proceeds have had a significant impact on our daily lives. To update everyone, my lovely wife, Beaner was diagnosed with a terminal neurogenic disease called Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (P.S.P.). We need your help! We learned of this devastating news this past February and was admitted to Tidewell Hospice shortly after. She is a wonderful, caring person who has always been there for me, our family, and many others in need.
Currently, we are living on my Social Security income – that is it. With enormous co-pays for the many ICU visits, the savings we had are long gone and we have been forced to using credit cards to make up the difference at the end of each month. Because of my own health issues, I am unable to work as I once did. I can work local jobs occasionally and when I do, I apply any extra income to the credit cards and Beaner’s care. It is not enough though, and month by month we are sinking further and further into insurmountable debt.
I have trimmed every ounce of fat from our budget and done everything in my power to remedy the situation, but it is only a matter of time before I cannot provide for Beaner’s care and make the monthly financials anymore. When that happens, I do not know what we will do.
I am her sole caregiver, and her needs are increasing daily as this horrible disease worsens. We do not know how much time she has left with us, and I cannot fathom what will happen – especially to her – if we go under.
When I was most desperate, I received an email from a PEA member. He asked if he could tell others about our dire financial situation. The Gold Project was born!
