Cryptic is a wonderful ‘twist ending’ style routine in which your participants all call out random numbers that are multiplied together. A deck of cards is introduced and a random assortment of cards is dealt haphazardly to the table. Those cards are counted and added to the calculation before one final number that has some personal significance to the spectator ends the calculation. The number is written down before the spectator is asked to take a photo of the number on their phone. The card that has been dealt to is also revealed to be the 8 of Spades. At this moment, no one knows where anything is going until the performer flips the photo like a mirror image, revealing the numbers to spell out the selected card! As an added kicker, the performer can then reveal the number of personal significance that one of the spectators was thinking of. This leaves them with a wonderful photo memory that they can share on social media and hopefully tag you in!
