Alain Nu - Nu-Wave ReloadedPDF
THE BLURB:
It has been a while since I?ve released anything, but with
the encouragement of my very dear friend, Doug Moors, I am
releasing the COMPLETE version (with subtleties and nuances)
of the "Nu Wave" effect published in my XXX lecture
manuscript and Mind Over Matter book from 1999. Extra work
has been put into this effect since then, and Doug felt that
it warranted a new write up. After he did it himself, what
could I do? It was well written and ready to add to my
stock. So BACK IN PRINT, may I re-introduce to you all:
Nu Wave Reloaded
This thirteen page manuscript contains Nu's most recent
thoughts on creating an examinable variation of Max Maven's
brilliant "B-Wave" effect on the market.
EFFECT: A face-down packet of four ordinary (but as of yet,
unknown) cards is introduced. A spectator is asked to "only
imagine" that these cards are the four queens. By means of
an entirely fair mental process, one specific queen is
imagined by the spectator, and as the face-down packet is
spread, it is the only one that is FACE-UP in the spread.
Two more surprise kickers follow, with a special climax that
neatly ties up the effect into a tight little package of
"close-up mental theatre." After this, everything is
examinable. Written by Douglas Ashley Moors, who believes
that Alain has made significant-enough strides to warrant
re-publishing this effect (along with its new additions and
subtleties) so that it is easy-to-learn and understand.
Everything is examinable! You get an easy-to-read visual
chart of the entire system, AND the fleshed-out "real work"
and presentation for the pros and true amateurs. PLUS JUST
RECENTLY some very clever new innovations have been
worked-out by Alain which adds SIGNIFICANT work to the
entire B'wave / Nu Wave premise and makes this handling MORE
personal and memorable than ever!
MY COMMENTS:
As stated in the blurb, this is an older item from Alain
Nu's XXX. But since the publication of that manuscript,
which is now out of print, several significant touches have
been made. The classic B'Wave plot is that one freely
chosen Queen out of four is the only one reversed in the
packet of four Queens.
With the original, created by Max Maven, standard cards
cannot be used to accomplish this effect. With Alain Nu's
version, standard cards are used, but the cards must be
prepared to take advantage of the kicker endings. The
preparation is not difficult at all and can take just a
couple of minutes, but to perform this version you can't
just do this impromptu and pull out cards from a deck and
perform. This is by no means a drawback, just information
so you know what to expect.
Also included with this 5.5" x 8.5", 13-page book are three
extra pages of thoughts and ideas that Nu has worked out in
the last few months that make this even more commercial and
powerful. Part of this involves using giant playing cards.
Because only four cards are used, and giant ones at that,
this is one of those effects that I think even those who
don't like using cards can use. It's a simple, powerful
demonstration of mind control and everything can be examined
at the end. In fact, it is encouraged to give the cards
away to the participant. This is a solid, powerful version
of a classic effect by one our most creative thinkers and
unquestionably recommended.
